Passed peacefully away with her loving son by her side at the Hoyles Home on January 28, 2010, Violet Simmons, aged 85 years. Predeceased by husband George (1979); daughters: Geraldine (1984) and Dorothy (2005); brothers: John, Abe and Jim. Left to mourn sons: Russell (Beverly), Melvin (Cindy) and Gary; daughters: Joyce (Sterling Pardy), Gail (Late Frank Davis); nine grandchildren and twenty-two great-grandchildren; as well as a large circle of nephews, nieces and other relatives and friends. Resting at Carnell’s Funeral Home, 329 Freshwater Road, on Saturday and Sunday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral service will take place from the Carnell Memorial Chapel on Monday, February 1, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. with interment to follow at Mount Pleasant Cemetery.
