The death occurred peacefully, surrounded by his loving wife and family, at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital on Wednesday, June 18, 2008, of Edward Buote, of Mayfield, in his 74th year. Edward was the loving husband of Betty (nee Blacquiere); dear father of Michael, Linda (Art), Donnie (Susie), Paul (Shirley), Phyllis (Wade), Carl (Wanda), Patricia (Elmer), Peter, Brian (Rebecca) and Debbie (Garner); and stepfather of Lorna (Dale), Dale (Lisa), Paula and Tracey. He is also survived by numerous grandchildren; great-grandchildren; step-grandchildren; brothers Joe and Merrill; sisters Bernice and Cecille; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law; Pearl (Gordon), Joan (Eugene), Valerie (John), Muriel (Pat), Gordon (Simone), Herbie (Joan) and Rodney (Anne). Edward was predeceased by his parents, Angelina and Leonard; his brothers, Douglas and Alyre (Bones); sisters, Loretta and Rosina; brother-in-law, Tom Burton; sister-in-law, Clara Buote; and grandsons, Andrew and Joshua. Resting at Central Queen’s Funeral Home, 2538 Glasgow Road, New Glasgow, for visitation on Thursday, June 19, 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. Funeral mass will be celebrated at Stella Maris Roman Catholic Church, North Rustico, on Friday, June 20 at 10:30 a.m. Interment in Stella Maris Cemetery.
