It is with great sadness that the family of the late Ronald Butler announce his passing on Saturday, March 9, 2013 at the Corner Brook Long Term Care Facility at the age of 88 years. He leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories his sisters: Maudie Gaschel, Florida and Teresa (Allen) Ziegler, Ohio; sister-in-law: Veronica (Hedley) Martin, Corner Brook; special friends: Jackie and Woody Bessey, Corner Brook, Hector Prosper, Corner Brook, Dave and Sharon Higdon, Corner Brook, Barbara Hynes, Corner Brook and Father Roddie White, Corner Brook; as well as a large circle of nieces, especially Terri Dunne, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his wife Gertrude; parents: Josephine and Captain John Butler; sisters: Maureen Young, Gladys Caldwell and Edith McCarthy; brothers: James and William Butler. Cremation has taken place at Humber Valley Crematorium, Pasadena. There will be no visitation. The Funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, March 12 at 10:30 a.m. from The Cathedral of the Most Holy Redeemer, Mt. Bernard Avenue with Father Ambrose Hynes officiating. Interment to follow at Mt. Patricia Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy, in lieu of flowers donations may be made to The Most Holy Redeemer Cathedral.
