Gerald Ivan "Jake" Isnor

ISNOR, Gerald Ivan “Jake” – 86, Truro, passed away peacefully at Colchester East Hants Health Center, Truro, on Friday, March 8, 2013, with his family by his side. Born January 4, 1927, in Truro, he was a son of the late Earl and Clara (Kitt) Isnor He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth “Bette” (Walsh) Isnor, Truro; daughter, Brenda (Blaine) Schraeder, Kelowna, British Columbia; son, Paul (Sherry) Isnor, Halifax; sisters, Maxine (Don) Few, Faye Bell; brother, Ron (Shirley) Isnor, all of Milton, Ontario; six grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews. Along with his parents, he was predeceased by his sister, Doris MacMillan. (Oakville, Ontario) In his earlier life, he enjoyed fishing and hunting and was a long time avid bowler. He worked for many years for MacPhee’s Wholesale Meats and was well known for his love of harness racing at the Truro Raceway. Special thanks to Townsview Estates for giving Jake such wonderful care for the short time he resided there. Honouring his wishes, a private family interment has taken place in Middle Stewiacke Cemetery and there will be no funeral service. Arrangements have been entrusted to Mattatall – Varner Funeral Home, 55 Young Street, Truro.
