Allean White
It is with deep sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Allean White age 92 of Amherst, who went home to be with her Lord and Saviour on Friday, March 8, 2013 in the presence of her loving family at Northumberland Hall, Amherst.
Born in Sackville, NB she was a daughter of the late Lance and Florence (Allen) Hicks.
Allean was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She treated everyone as a friend and thought the best of all she met. Allean loved family gatherings and working in her flower gardens. She was dearly loved by all who knew her.
She took an active part in a number of ladies Christian Fellowship groups.
Allean was an active volunteer in the Reach to Recovery Program with the Canadian Cancer Society.
She will be sadly missed by her husband Howard with whom they just celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary on February 16th, sons Terry (Anita) Riverview and Glenn (Donna) Moncton, daughter Marilyn Smith Amherst, grandchildren Paul Morris (Janice), Michael Smith, Cheyenne (Jim) Carrier, Scott (Melissa) White, Tim (Elizabeth) Smith, Charity (Adam) Coates, Ashley White (Sean), Janalyn Smith (Darrin) and grandson-in-law Scott Leopold, great grandchildren Richard, Patrick, Matthew, Shelby, Nicholas, Mason, Jordan, Justin, Lauren, Kennedy, Tyler, Marc, Cameron and Jada.
Allean is also survived by one brother Harold (Ruth) Hicks Riverview and many nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by granddaughter Terri-Lynn Leopold, brothers Ken and Doug and sisters Alva Bannister and Penny Lennerton.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, March 10, 2013 from 2-4 p.m. in Campbell’s Funeral Home, 98 Church St. Amherst, NS. (667-9906).
Funeral service will be held on Monday at 10 a.m. from the Amherst Wesleyan Church, 50 Cornwall Ave., Amherst with Rev. Raymond Fancy officiating.
Interment will take place at a later date in the Amherst Cemetery.
