SCAMMELL, SHAWN VINCENT - Unexpectedly on March 10, 2013, Mr. Shawn Vincent Scammell of St. George, NB. Born at Saint John NB on March 27, 1989, he is a son of Gerald and Mary O. (Savoie) Scammell. A loving son, brother, grandson, nephew, cousin and friend, in addition to his loving parents, Gerald and Mary O. Scammell of St. George, NB, he is survived by one brother, Jeffrey Scammell and his fiancée Maryanne of Saint John, NB, maternal grandmother, Marjorie Savoie of St. George, NB, paternal grandmother, Mary P. Scammell of St. George, NB, aunts and uncles; Dianne (Stuart) Hawkins of Pennfield, NB, Lorraine (Leo) Palk of St. George, NB, Joseph (Patricia) Scammell of Caithness, NB, John (Cathy) Scammell of St. George NB, Connie (Douglas) Murray of Caithness, NB, James Scammell of Saint John, NB, Laurie (David) Mattie of St. George, NB, Tony Scammell of Monton, NB and Ken (Beth) Savoie of Windsor, ON, many cousins and countless friends. Shawn was predeceased by his maternal grandfather, Anthony Savoie, his paternal grandfather, Vincent Scammell, one uncle, Tony Savoie and his maternal step-grandfather, Wayne Kileen. Shawn was currently employed at Point Lepreau Generating Station in the Mechanical Maintenance Department. A true outdoorsman, Shawn loved to be outside hunting, canoeing, kayaking, hiking or any other activity that kept him busy. He was a very social, loyal, loving person and it was quite often Scammellville would be over run with his friends who came knocking on the door every chance they had. Shawn was very passionate about his family and friends. He had an amazing bond with his big brother Jeff and looked up to him greatly. He had a close connection with his parents and could often be found helping his father around the house. His dry sense of humour, love, laughter and giving soul will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
Resting at the St. George Funeral Home & Crematorium (755-3533) 26 Portage Street, St. George, NB with visiting on Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated from the St. George's Roman Catholic Church, St. George, NB on Wednesday at 11:00 am.
