Born in Glenwood (Lot 8), Prince Edward Island, Sept. 20, 1925, to parents Empress MacIsaac and William Alexander Stewart. George joined the Canadian Army when only 18 and served his country until the close of World War II, only to re-enlist with the Royal Canadian Air Force in 1951. He served his country his entire working life until retiring in 1991. Although a resident of Ottawa for 43 years, George loved to return to 'The Island' every summer and stay at West Point with his family and partake in the annual lobster fishing season.
