It is with great sadness that the family of the late Bertha Baines of Shoal Cove West, NL, announce her passing at Rufus Guinchard Health Centre in Port Saunders on Saturday, March 9, 2013 at the age of 79 years. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories her daughters Laverne (Willis), New Ferrolle and Marilyn (Andrew), Reef’s Harbour; son Wayne (Audrey), Shoal Cove; grandchildren Vernon, Connie (Melv), Monique (Glen), Sheldon (Tyna), Kyia, Zane, Chase and Jeanien (Lee); great-grandchildren Sarah, Taya, Ocean, Melvin Jr., Colin and Liam; very special family members Marina (Kirby) and Belinda Applin; sister Cicely (Samuel), Labrador City; sisters-in-law Mary, Susan and Sylvia; brother-in-law Archibald (Elizabeth); as well as a large circle of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was predeceased by her husband Ronald, parents Joseph and Caroline Applin. Visitation took place at St. Margaret of Scotland Anglican Church in Reef’s Harbour Saturday and Sunday from where the funeral service was held on Monday, March 11 at 11 a.m. with Rev. Harold Harvey officiating. Interment followed at the French Cove Cemetery. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Fillatre’s Funeral Home, Port au Choix.
