Entered into the joy of the Lord on Monday, March 11, 2013, while in the presence of her loving family, Mary Ellen Critch (nee Power), of Gaskiers, St. Mary's Bay, formerly of North Harbour (SMB), in her 81st year. She has left us, with broken hearts, to greet her many loved ones in the Critch and Power families who have gone before her in faith, eEntered into the joy of the Lord on Monday, March 11, 2013, while in the presence of her loving family, Mary Ellen Critch (nee Power), of Gaskiers, St. Mary’s Bay, formerly of North Harbour (SMB), in her 81st year. She has left us, with broken hearts, to greet her many loved ones in the Critch and Power families who have gone before her in faith, especially her husband, Cecil; parents Frank and Ida Power, brother Frank Jr. and the recently deceased: grandchild, Calvin Jr. and son-in-law, Jeff Steiner. Leaving to celebrate her wonderful life are her children: Fr. Cecil, Yvonne, Fr. Gerard, Pat (Dot), Brenda (Daphne), Fr. Frank, Calvin (Patsy), Ellie (Frank) and Wally (Darlene), 22 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, sister Catherine Linehan, brother Richard (Marg) Power and many other relatives and friends. A special thank you is extended to the staff of St. Clare’s Hospital for their tender care. Resting at Gibbons’ Funeral Home, St. Mary’s, on Wednesday, March 13, from 7-9 p.m. and Thursday, March 14, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. A Vigil Service will take place at Our Lady of Assumption Church, St. Mary’s, on Thursday, March 14, at 8 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Friday, March 15, at 1 p.m., at St. Mary’s. Burial to follow. Flowers gratefully accepted or donations may be made in our mother's name to the Good Shepherd Parish — Our Lady of Assumption Church Maintenance Fund. She was a business woman, a community and Parish leader, a woman of deep faith and one who brought the hospitality, compassion and kindness of Jesus to all those whom she met.
