Passed peacefully away at St. Clare’s Mercy Hospital, on Monday, March 11th, 2013. Retired, long time employee, St. John’s City Council, 1935-1984. Veteran, WWII, 59th. Newfoundland Heavy Regiment Royal Artillery, 22nd. Battery. Predeceased by his loving wife Frances (nee Roberts - April 2011), daughter Pauline Everson - 2005, infant granddaughter Christina - 1965; parents: Patrick and Norah (nee Collins) and step-mother Alice Ryan; brothers: Edward -2011, Patrick (Lar) - 2011, Augustus (Gus) 1981; James -1935; infant brother Thomas - 1923; and sister Josephine Allison, Keokuk., Iowa - 2005. Leaving to celebrate his life are his sons and daughters and their families: Patrick (Doreen), Mount Pearl, Gordon (Gloria), Linda Grouchy (Tom Bishop), Lorraine Furlong (Greg) all of
St. John’s, David Mount Pearl, and Kevin B.C. Also his grandchildren: Anita (Paul), Erik, Stephen (Laura), Jennifer (Lou), Geordie (Jackie), Glen (Anna), Shannon (Angela), Jacinda, Andrea and Carolyn (Shane); great-grandchildren: Brogan, Rylan and Ethan; brother Jerry (Dolly), Ottawa; son-in-law Cecil Everson; his sisters-in-law: Rita Walsh and Shirley Walsh; as well his many nieces and nephews and residents of Hillcrest Estates, Mount Pearl. Special thanks to 7 West staff at St. Clare’s for their excellent level of care. Cremation has taken place. Resting at Caul's Funeral home LeMarchant Road, visitation Wednesday from 2-5 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. Funeral Service will take place on Thursday, March 14, 2013 from Caul’s Chapel at 12 p.m. Inurnment to follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations in his memory can be made to VOWR.
