George Edward (Ted) Macgrath

83, Truro, Nova Scotia, passed away Friday, June 20, 2008, in Camp Hill Veterans Memorial Building, Halifax. Born in Strathbogie, P.E.I., he was the son of the late Munro and Elsie (Ferguson) MacGrath. Ted spent his early years in Lorne Valley and moved to Nova Scotia as a young man. He served overseas during the Second World War and retired from Domtar Chemicals in 1986. He is survived by his wife, Hazel; four sons and nine grandchildren; twin brother, Heath (Muriel), Montague; brothers, Alton, Lorne Valley, John, Toronto; sisters, Annabel (late Edward) Crane, Jane (Frank) Parker, both of Georgetown, Joan McGrath, Charlottetown, May Logalbo, California; sister-in-law, Jean McGrath, Fordwich, Ontario; many nieces, nephews and cousins. Ted was predeceased by a brother, Winston. Visitation will be 6-9 p.m. Monday, funeral service 2 p.m. Tuesday, both in Colchester Community Funeral Home, 512 Willow St., Truro, Rev. Larry Harrison officiating. Interment will be in Bible Hill Cemetery. Donations in Ted’s memory may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or Alzheimer Society of N.S.
