Passed peacefully away at the Health Sciences Centre on Monday, February 1, 2010, Richard T. Whelan, age 60, formerly of Riverhead, St. Mary’s Bay, retired teacher — St. John Bosco and St. Paul’s. Predeceased by his parents Jack (1954) and Sadie (1970), brothers: Patrick & Michael (1940), John (1986), George (2009) and Sister Josephine (2006). Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories brothers: Basil (Laura) and Des (Barb); sisters: Cecilia Bowen (Richard), Nancy Isaacs (Terry), and Uriel Kielly (Angus); sisters-in-law: Ruth, Madeline and Mary; special friends Brian Davis and Alex & Eileen Kielly, and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, February 3, 2010, from 10 a.m. – 9 p.m. at Gibbons Funeral Home, St. Marys.
