Margaret Elizabeth Walsh

It is with great sadness that the family announce the sudden passing of our mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and aunt Margaret Elizabeth Walsh, 90, a longtime resident of Georges River, on Saturday, March 16, 2013, at the Northside Community Guest Home.
Margaret was the daughter of the late Michael and Mary Anne (MacInnis) MacDonald.
She was employed for a number of years with Agnes Surpass Shoes in the North Sydney. Margaret was a lifelong member of St. Joseph Church, Bras d’Or and a member of the North Sydney Senior Citizens and Pensioners Club.
Margaret loved to travel. She enjoyed playing cards with her family and looked forward to her weekly rummoli game with her close friends. Margaret was humorous and witty and she always had a great outlook on life. Special thanks to the staff of the Northside Guest Home for the love and care given to Mom.
Margaret is survived by her children Joe (Bonnie) Walsh, Mill Bay, B.C., Carol Ann (Len) Vickers, Georges River, Tom (Debbi) Walsh, Whitby, Ont., Judy McKinnon, Fredericton, N.B., Colleen (Ronnie) Starratt, Hantsport, Terrance (Norma) Walsh, Lower Sackville;her sister, Theresa MacDonald, Long Island; her grandchildren, Loralei, Colin, Mike, Stephen, David, Susan, Sara, Mary, Katie, Samantha, Tommy, Geoffrey, Nicole, Brian, Jason, Meghan, John and Joe and 16 great-grandchildren.
Margaret was predeceased by her husband, Matthew Walsh, a son, Michael (daughter in law Bernadette) Walsh, brothers, Joseph, Malcolm, Angus, John, Michael, Vincent and Allan MacDonald, sisters, Annie Young and Mary MacDonald.
Visitation for Margaret will be held 2-4 and 7-9 p.m., Tuesday in the W.J. Dooley Funeral Home, 107 Pleasant St., North Sydney. A funeral mass will be celebrated, 10:30 a.m., Wednesday at St. Joseph Church, Bras d’Or with Rev. Peter McLeod officiating. Burial will be in the Parish Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to Northside Community Guest Home.
