Passed peacefully away in the presence of her family at the Leonard A. Miller Centre on Friday, March 15, 2013, Ethel Blanche Higdon of New Harbour in her 101st year. Predeceased by husband Samuel Higdon, son Clifford, daughter Elva Legge, son-in-law Mervin Smith, parents Gilbert and Selina George, brothers Elwood George (Winnie), Edward George and Wallace George (Nettie) and sister Susie George. Left with amazing memories to mourn her passing are son Verdon Higdon ( Iris), Long Cove, daughters Nettie Williams (Eric), Portage La Prairie, Manitoba, Louise Newhook (Sam), Mount Pearl, Sheila Smith, St.John’s and Rosalind Bailey, Mount Pearl; also 19 grandchildren, 33 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great- grandchildren; sister-in-law Priscilla George, Ontario, and many more relatives and friends. Resting at Warren’s Funeral Home, Dildo on Monday, March 18th 2:00 – 9:00 p.m. The funeral service will be held from the Salvation Army Citadel TBS Corps on Tuesday, March 19th at 2:00 p.m. Interment to follow at the Salvation Army Cemetery.
