The family of the late James R. Smith would like to express our sincere thanks and gratitude to all relatives, friends and neighbors who helped ease the sorrow caused by the death of a beloved husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather.

We gratefully acknowledge the prayers, phone calls, visits, cards, emails, flowers, food and donations to WMRH Palliative Care Unit. Thank you to the staff of WMRH, the ER Dept., Dr. D. Dutoit, ICU nursing staff, 3A and 3B staff for taking such good care of our Dad.

Special thanks to Wendy Tilley, RN (ER Dept.), Reg Skinner-paramedic, Dr. Dean and nursing staff of the Palliative Care Unit, your compassion will not be forgotten.

Thank you to the staff at the Cancer Clinic (WMRH). The care that Dad received for several years was always more pleasant because of your kindness, which could never be measured. To Dr. Robert Young and staff for all the years of having Dad’s best interest at heart, thank you for your kindness. To Respiratory Therapy Specialists Inc., Lisa Dobbin, thanks so much for your professionalism and kindness.

To Dean Michael Rice, Rev. David Russell, thank you for your visits and your compassion during our time of sorrow. To Country Haven, a special thank you to Dwayne Parsons and Maxine Caravan for the care and compassion shown to our family, it was much appreciated.

To our co-workers, the Laboratory staff (WMRH), Steers Group, Harvey & Company, Colemans, Toronto West Detention Center, Moncton Hospital, each and every kind and thoughtful act was so appreciated.

To Mary Dwyer (daughter) who captured the essence of who our Dad really was with her wonderful words of remembrance. “Well Done Little Red”. Special thanks to grandchildren, Kaylene, Angela, Maggie, Martine, Mark and Matthew for your participation in the funeral service, we are so proud of you all for that.
