The death of Raymond James "Ray" Wainman, 61, of River Hebert, occurred at the Cumberland Regional Health Care Centre on Friday, March 15, 2013. Born In Sudbury, Ontario, Raymond was a son of the late Howard and Eileen (Millar) Wainman.
Ray fought a long and courageous battle and he did it all with a smile on his face. He was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather and friend.
He will be sadly missed by his wife and best friend, Darlene McClary, 3 sons, Kurt (Janelle), Corey (Kim) and Raymond (Kim) all of Inuvik, NWT, step-son, Greg (Maria) Doncaster of Victoria, BC, thirteen grandchildren; 1 great grandchild; a brother, Howie (Jenn) Wainman and a sister, Sharon (Russ) Standish all of Banff, AB, as well as several brothers and sisters-in-law and many nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents he was predeceased by a brother, Ron.
Arrangements are under the care and supervision of Furlong~Jones Funeral Home, 70 Church Street, Amherst (667-8777). Honoring Ray's wishes, there is to be no funeral service. A time of visitation and sharing of memories will be held from 2-4 pm at the funeral home on Wednesday, March 20, 2013.
For those wishing to do so, donations in memory of Ray may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or a charity of one's choice
