With sadness we announce the death of Stewart Arnold Ward on March 10, 2013, in Mississauga, Ont., after a brief illness.
Stewart was born in Sydney on March 1, 1954, son of the late Ralph and Katherine (Kay Howie) Ward.
He spent his early years in Sydney River, working at Woolco in the automotive department and for Municipal Ready Mix. Though he lived and worked in Ontario for over 25 years, he was a Cape Bretoner in his heart. He was a conscientious worker and enjoyed music, cars, travelling to sporting events, and especially spending time with family and friends.
Stewart is survived by his sister, Gayle (Fenton) Isenor, Howie Centre; twin, Sheila, Sydney River; niece, Merrill Isenor, Burnaby, B.C.; nephew, David (Mariah Shah) Isenor and their daughter, Aminah, Dartmouth; uncles, aunts and cousins; and his good friends in Mississauga and Sydney.
There will be no visitation. A memorial service will be held 11 a.m. on Saturday, March 23 at Sydney Memorial Chapel with Rev. Thomas Whent officiating, followed by a gathering of family and friends. Private burial at Alfred Smith Cemetery, Sydney Forks.
