The death occurred peacefully on Wednesday, June 25, 2008, at the Palliative Care Unit of the Prince Edward Home, with family at her side, of Marie Gallant (nee Doiron), wife of the late Arthur G. Gallant of Rusticoville, age 77 years. Marie was the loving mother of Paul (Sharon), Charlottetown; Ronnie (Thelma), Rusticoville; Ian (Sheila) St. Albert, Alta.; Dale (Sherry) Winnipeg, Man.; Louise (Grant), Roma (Dan), Earl (Gail), Barb (Steve), Kent (Tracy) and Wade (Donna) all of Red Deer, Alta.; cherished grandmother of nineteen and great-grandmother of four. She is survived by her brothers, Lawrence (Marie), Melvin (Anita), Dennis (Cathy) and Victor (Ella Mae); sisters, Louise (Jack) and Vivian (John); and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Besides her husband, she was predeceased by her parents, John and Rose Doiron, and her twin brother, Ivan. Resting at the Central Queens Funeral Home, 2538 Glasgow Road, New Glasgow, P.E.I. for visitation on Friday, June 27th, 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral mass will be celebrated at St. Augustine’s Roman Catholic Church, Rustico on Saturday, June 28 at 10:30 a.m. Interment in the St. Augustine’s Cemetery.
