David Johnson
Johnson, David William McNair M.D. M.B.B.S, F.R.C.P (C) of Enfield 1933 – 2013 died peacefully at Northwood Centre in the company of family and friends. He was predeceased by his parents, Eric and Phyllis Johnson and his wife Juliet. He is survived by his son Richard and daughter-in-law Angela, grandchildren Sean and Hannah all of Enfield and special friends Drew and Melena MacSween of Enfield
Born in Preston England, he was raised in Bridlington. He attended Middlesex Medical School where he met his wife Juliet in the anatomy lab. After they both qualified as doctors and getting married they came to Canada in 1960 with the RCN when he was posted to Halifax, where they stayed after he left the Navy while he trained in anaesthesia. They then moved to PEI in 1970 where he practised until he retired when Juliet became sick with cancer to care for her. He moved to Enfield in 2003 after her death where he resided until his final illness forced him into Northwood.
He was known as a caring doctor patients and was respected and liked by his colleagues. His interests included golf, photography, history and travelling with Juliet when she was still alive.
His body has been donated to the Dalhousie Facility of Medicine, memorial donations may be made to The Dalhousie Facility of Medicine or to Autism Nova Scotia.
Memorial service to be held at Christ Church Lantz Nova Scotia on Monday 25 March 2013 at 2:00 pm
The family would like to thank the staff of 8 centre Northwood for taking care of dad in his final days as well as Drew and Melena MacSween for their kindness to him over the years.
