PORD - Genevieve Marie Pord (Legault) of Pontiex, Sask. passed away peacefully at the age of 84 years. The funeral Service was held on March 16,2013 at 2:00 p.m. at Notre Dame d'Auvergne Roman Catholic Church, Ponteix, with Father Guy Amedee Ainemon officiating. The organist was Dan Roberge, soloist Allison Lapointe-Lacelle and the church choir. The eulogist was Matthew Pord, and all of Genevieve's grandchildren were honorary pallbearers. The internment service will be held at a later date. Genevieve is survived by her husband, Hector Pord of 63 years; children Rick (Karen) Pord, Christopher, Tiffany (Jason) Brown (Eva, Verina); Jonathan; Monique (Tony) Lacelle , Justin (Shannon) Lacelle (Spencer, Sebastion); Brigitte Lacelle (Jason Baerg) (Calla Bowyer); Jerrod Lacelle; Logan (Allison) Lacelle ; Kelly (Helen) Pord, Matthew (Kelsey) Pord (Asia, Ezra);Chelsea (Jon) Westwell (Mason); Joshua; Mitch (Penny) Pord, Kurtis Kowalsky (Taylor); Jocelyne (Russ) Haugen, Lisa (Morgan) Murray, (Gavin, Lauren, Forrest); Jeff Piche (Cori Garlick) (Jonathan); Clayton; Jordan. Genevieve is predeceased by her parents, Daniel and Eva Legault; parents-in-law, William and Laura Pord; one sister; two brothers; five brothers-in-law; four sisters-in-law and three nephews. Genevieve was born on March 6th, 1929 at Gabriel hospital in Ponteix, Saskatchewan. She worked at Morgan's Department Store in Montreal, Quebec and also waitressed in Morinville, Alberta. On June 28, 1949 Genevieve married Hector Pord. Genevieve was an active member in the ladies of the parish, she enjoyed archery, bowling, having coffee with their Flying Farmer Friends and going for airplane rides with Hector. She had a real passion for exotic flowers, drying and sculpting them into beautiful flowers arrangements, she enjoyed spending time in her small orchard and large garden. She also spent hours preserving wedding bouquets. Genevieve was a very kind and gentle spirit who appreciated nature and all it's beauty. She always gave her husband, children and grandchildren her unconditional love. Genevieve will be sadly missed by all who knew her, but we will hold her in our hearts forever. Donations may be made to Foyer St. Josephs Nursing Home in memory of Genevieve. Lemieux Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
