SHIRLEY, CLAUDE W. - Claude W. Shirley, 89, of Mazerolle Special Care Home, Dieppe and formerly of Moncton, with his family at his side, passed away peacefully at The Moncton Hospital on Wednesday, March 20, 2013. Born in Weldford, Kent Co., he was the son of the late John and Lillian (Shirley) Shirley. Claude was a retired Stationery Engineer with New Brunswick School District #15, with 27 years service and attended Parkside Baptist Church. He enjoyed his daily trips to Tim Horton’s, time with the family at the camp at Forks Stream Road, supporting the Toronto Maple Leafs, socializing with his friends and time with his family, especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren. Claude will be sadly missed by his loving wife of over 46 years, Theresa (Lutes) Shirley; children, Linda Melanson (Norbert) and Willard King (Lynda), both of Moncton; precious grandchildren, Shawn Melanson (Janice), Shannon Melanson (Rhonda), Tracy Porter (Gerry), Sherri Tully (Matt), Jennifer King (Martin); cherished great grandchildren, Jansen, Logan, Kennedy, Halle, Jasmine, Jalen and Cadence; sister, Grace Crossman of Saint John; sister-in-law, Margaret Shirley; several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by brothers, Kimball, Isaac, Alfred and Victor; sisters, Agnes and Udavilla; brothers-in-law, Alfred Crossman and David Barnes.
Visitation at Ferguson Knowles Funeral Home, 1657 Mountain Road, Moncton (858-1995) on Monday from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00pm. Funeral Service at Ferguson Knowles Funeral Home Chapel on Tuesday, March 26, 2013 at 11:00 am, Rev. Ken Fillmore officiating. Reception in the Funeral Home Reception Centre following the service.
