Margaret Augusta Purves passed away on March 21, 2013 at Alderwood Rest Home.
She was the daughter of (the late) William Henry Tutty and Irene Rice.
Margaret was born in Lachine, Que. on June 21, 1917. The family moved to North Sydney, then to Brooklyn in Queen's County, N.S. When she married she moved back to North Sydney. Since 1967 she lived in Englishtown with her husband, Murray Purves.
Margaret loved gardening, knitting, crocheting, dancing, card playing, boating and baking. She was famous for her fudge at Halloween.
She is survived by her daughter, Patricia Kenna (Calgary); sister, Gwen Sarty, Bridgewater; as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was predeceased by husbands, Frank Kenna and Murray Purves; also brothers, Brenton, Briar and Bill Tutty.
The funeral will be held at Greenwood United Church at 2 p.m., Tuesday, March 26, 2013 with Rev. Alison Etter officiating, reception to followed. Burial will be in MacAskill Cemetery, Englishtown, Victoria County.
