INGERSOLL, LOIS SHIRLEY – On the day of her late husband’s birthday, surrounded by her loving family, we sadly announce the passing of Lois Shirley (Silliphant) Ingersoll, wife of the late Sherwood Ralph Ingersoll, daughter of the late Harry and Louise Ball Blanche (Blacklock) Silliphant. Loving mother of Gail (Cliff McDonough) of Grand Manan, Bruce (Debbie) Ingersoll of Red Head, Kathy Robichaud of Red Head, Kevin (Angela) Ingersoll of Saint John and Elaine (Peter) Martin of Red Head. Also survived by her sister Betty A. (Gordon) Smith of Morna, her 12 grandchildren and her 10 great-grandchildren; sister-in-law Twilah Leonard of Southwest Harbour Me.; brother-in-law Murray Kenny of Bowling Green Fl.; many nieces, nephews and cousins. Besides her husband and parents, Lois was predeceased by her sister Joy Doreen Kenny; two sons-in-law Allison R. Campbell and Fred J. Robichaud; two special friends Blanche McDonough and Anice Scott. Lois was born in Saint John on January 31st, 1925. She worked at St. Joseph’s Hospital in the Dietary Dept. for over 20 years retiring in 1989. She was a faithful member of the Red Head United Church and the Red Head UCW Group. She will be sadly missed and forever loved by all those left behind. Some other very special people who meant a lot to mom are Krysta Trask, Maureen Adamson and Alva Richard. We would also like to thank Extra Mural, especially Liana Long and Pam Cooke for their wonderful care and compassion for mom. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Red Head United Church or charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated.
Arrangements are under the direction of Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road (646-2424) with visitation being held on Sunday, March 24th from 7 to 9 p.m. and Monday, March 25th from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. A Funeral Service will take place from the Fundy Funeral Home chapel on Tuesday, March 26th, 2013 at 11 a.m. A private interment will take place at Greenwood Cemetery.
