LANE, SHERMA H. - 1943 - 2013 - Moncton – Sherma Heather Lane, wife of Ross F. Lane, of Fenton St., Miramichi, passed away at the Dr. George Dumont Hospital, Moncton, on Saturday, March 23, 2013, at the age of 69. Born in Halifax, N.S., on April 5, 1943, she was the daughter of the late Harold and Stella (McNeil) Knickle. She was a homemaker an adherent of the United Church of Canada. As a result of being a Military wife, she was employed at various retail convenience stores in many communities, throughout their careers, especially in the Miramichi area following Ross’s retirement. She is survived by her husband, Ross F. Lane; two daughters, Jane Anne Roberts (Brian), of Kippens, NL. and Rossalyn McDow (Jeffrey), of Silvanlake, AB; one son, Wade Lane, of Fredericton; one sister, Delores Boudreau (John), of Arichat, N.S.; one brother, Harold Knickle (Carol), of Halifax, N.S.; five grandchildren, David, Andrew, Justin, Brendan, Chelsea; three great grandchildren, Kendall, Raymond, Robert; several nieces and nephews, including one special niece, Darlene Wilson. She was predeceased by two sisters, Diane Lepine and Sheila Goodwin; one brother, Carl Knickle.
By request there will be no visitation at the funeral home. A public memorial service will be held at Adams Funeral Home Chapel, on Thursday, March 28, 2013, at 2 pm, conducted by Rev. Charlene Maguire MacKnight. A reception with the family will follow at the funeral home. As expressions of sympathy, donations to any charity of the donors’ choice would be appreciated by the family.
