Peacefully, at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital, on Saturday, March 23, 2013, of Bertha Mary Frances MacDonald (nee Redmond) of Charlottetown and formerly of Hunter River and Hope River, age 99 years.
Beloved wife of the late James (Jimmy) MacDonald. Cherished aunt of Lloyd Redmond (Deb Harrison), Eleanor Snow (Hal), Paula MacInnis (Glenn), Patsy Brun (Dan), Brian Redmond (Lucy), Allan Redmond (Denyse), and Brenda Dougay (Nelson). Bertha will be fondly remembered by members of Jimmy’s family, wonderful neighbors and friends and the ladies of Charlotte Residence.
Besides Jimmy, she was predeceased by her parents John T. and Laura (Turner) Redmond; brothers Ambrose and Harold (Bernice); by her sister Rita Redmond; and nieces Joyce (Redmond) Campbell and Gloria Redmond.
Resting at the Hennessey Cutcliffe Charlottetown Funeral Home until Tuesday afternoon, then transferred to St. Augustine’s Church, South Rustico, for funeral mass at 2 p.m. Interment later in St. Augustine’s Parish Cemetery.
Visiting hours will be held on Monday from 7 to 9 p.m. Due to severe allergies please refrain from wearing scented products.
