It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Louise Ann (Pitchuck) Anthony, 47, who lost her courageous battle to cancer on March 24, 2013, at An Cala Palliative Care, CBRH, surrounded by her loving family.
Louise was born April 10,1965, in Sydney, N.S., daughter of Michael (Greta) Pitchuck and Mary (Whitfield) Best.
Predeceased by maternal grandparents, William and Stella Pitchuck and Murdock and Florence Romard.
She was employed with Sobeys and enjoyed her job very much. She loved her Sobeys friends who gave her a great deal of support during her illness, Louise loved going for long drives with Brian, along the Cabot Trail and Baddeck. The scenery always put a smile on her face. She could be found watching her team the Montreal Canadiens on television. Go Habs Go!
Louise is survived by her loving husband, Brian; her three daughters, Stephanie (Thomas), Lisa, Natasha (Paul) and her three darling grandchildren, Layla, Dallas and Kenzie; stepchildren, Justin, Brandon, Kristen. She is also survived by her sister, Wendy Pitchuck; twin brothers, Michael and Patrick Pitchuck; stepsister, Kim Best, Alberta; stepbrothers, Robert Best, Alberta, Whitfield Best, Sydney, and special godaughter, Brooke; mother-in-law, Shirley Power (Max Legge); brothers-in-law, Bobby (Kim) and Blaine (Debbie); many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews, as well as her furry little friend ‘Miss Kitty’.
Special thanks to Dr. Glen Worth, Dr. Isabelle Dugas and all the caring nurses on the An Cala Palliative Care Unit who comforted Louise in her final days. To all the family and friends who’ve done so much throughout Louise’s illness, your support, compassion and love will never be forgotten. God Bless.
Cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held today (Tuesday, March 26) at the S.W. Chant & Son Funeral Home, 564 Alexandra St., Sydney. from 2-4 and 7-9 p/m. A memorial service will take place 11 a.m., Wednesday, March 27, in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Ron Coole officiating.
