Roberts, George Walter – 84, Hilden, passed away Tuesday, March 26, 2013 in the Colchester East Hants Health Centre, Truro. Born in Hope, BC, he was a son of the late Frederick and Bessie Mae (Lloyd) Roberts. George worked for several years at the Colchester County Correctional Centre, Truro as a Correctional Officer.
He is survived by his wife Charlene (Totten) Roberts; son George of Truro; daughter Sandra Babineau (Bradley) of Truro; grandchildren Tyler and Jordan; brother, Donald of BC; sister, Mrs. Dorothy Bagshaw of Prince Rupert, BC; several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by brothers, Bill, Jim, Chuck, Gerry, Fred; sister, Louise in infancy.
No visitation or funeral service by family request. A celebration of George’s life will take place in the MacLeod Rooms, Best Western Glengarry, Truro, on Thursday, March 28th from 2 – 4 pm. Arrangements are under the direction of the Mattatall~Varner Funeral Home, 55 Young Street, Truro. Donations in George’s memory may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.
