The death occurred peacefully at the South Shore Villa, Crapaud, on Sunday, Feb. 7, 2010, of Louise Maud Marchbank (nee Johnson), formerly of New Annan, aged 92 years. Louise was born on Aug. 4, 1917, in Margate, to her late parents John A. and Sadie (nee Paynter) Johnson. Beloved wife of her first husband, the late Clarence Marchbank, and her second husband, the late John Marchbank. Loving mother of Adele (David) Gillis of Stratford, James (Connie) of Linkletter Road and Garth (Verena Matthew) of New Annan. Also lovingly remembered by 10 grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild, daughter-in-law Nancy Marchbank of New Annan, sister-in-law Mary MacLean of Summerside and numerous nieces and nephews. Survived by her sister Amy (Arthur P.) Johnstone of Stanley Bridge. Besides her parents and her two husbands, Louise was predeceased by her son Robert and brothers and sisters-in-law: Evelyn (Keith) Warren, Andrew (Enid) Johnson, Margaret (Earl) Lowther, Ken MacLean, Ernestine Connell and Marjorie Cairns. Resting at East Prince Funeral Home, 245 Pope Road, Summerside, until Wednesday, Feb. 10, then to Kensington United Church for funeral service at 1:30 p.m. Interment to take place at a later date in Floral Hills Memorial Gardens, Pleasant Valley. Visiting hours on Tuesday, 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Memorial donations in Louise’s memory to the Prince County Hospital Foundation or the ALS Society of P.E.I. would be greatly appreciated.
