NEW GLASGOW/DURHAM – Constance Coralie MacFarlane, 90 High Crest Place, New Glasgow, formerly of Pictou, Rogers Hill Centre and Durham, passed away peacefully on Saturday, February 6, 2010, in the Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow, N.S.
Born in Bootle, Liverpool, England, Connie was the daughter of the late Joseph Michael and Agnes Ann (Ferguson) Waters.
An avid gardener and reader, skilled handcrafter and homemaker, she will be sorely missed and fondly remembered by many.
She is survived by her children: Sheila (Jim Livingston) Lake Charlotte; Michael (Alice Carrigan) Westville; Leslie (Luke West) Owen Sound, ON.; Stephen (Lynda) Toronto, ON.; Sylvia (Bob Love) Central West River; Coralie (Joe Casey) Pictou; 15 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren; sister, Sheila (Gordon Dixon) Manchester, England. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by husband, W.D. ‘Bill’; son, Jeffrey Paul; grandson, Michael Shaun; brothers, Joseph and Ronald; sisters, Anne and Kaye.
Special thanks are extended to the staff of High Crest Place, New Glasgow; Dr. Chris Elliott, and the staff of the Palliative Care Unit, Aberdeen Hospital.
Cremation has taken place. No visitation at Connie’s request.
A celebration of life and interment will take place in Durham, N.S., at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the IWK Children’s Hospital, Halifax, N.S., or the charity of your choice.
