At Stewart Memorial Hospital, Tyne Valley, on Monday, March 25, 2013, of Erwin Albert Dennis, Ellerslie, veteran of the Second World War, aged 90, husband of the late Olive (nee Millar). Born in Arlington on Aug. 15, 1922, son of the late William J. and Ruth (nee Gorrill) Dennis. Cherished father to Barry (Susan), Fredericton, NB; Barbara Sheen (Hugh Graham), St. Andrews, NB; Brian (Edna), Ellerslie; Betty (Elzie) Smith, Bideford; and Bruce (Marigail), Fredericton, NB. Loving grandfather to 13 grandchildren, several step-grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. Erwin is also survived by brothers and sisters: Arnett (Maralee), Rapid City, South Dakota; Clare (Julie), Port Dover, ON; Edgar (Janet) Port Hill; and sisters-in-law Rose Marie Dennis, Halifax; Jennie Dennis, Summerside; and Blanche Millar, Bedford, NS. Predeceased by his parents, wife Olive, brothers Keith and Reagh; sisters Wanda Hope, Celia Dennis and Emily Pearle in infancy. Resting at the Ferguson Tyne Valley Funeral Chapel with visiting hours Friday 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral service will be held on Saturday at 11 a.m. at St. John’s Anglican Church, Ellerslie. Comrades of the Ellerslie Royal Canadian Legion Branch #22 will hold a service of remembrance for their late comrade before visitation Friday evening at 6:45 p.m. Brethern of Alexandra Lodge #5, Port Hill will hold a masonic service for their late brother Friday evening at 9 p.m. Interment will follow in St. John’s Anglican Cemetery. In memory of Erwin, memorials to St. John’s Anglican Church or Stewart Memorial Hospital Foundation would be appreciated.
