Mildred Iona Parks –100, Berwick, Kings Co., formerly of Aylesford, passed away peacefully on Monday, March 25, 2013 in Valley Regional Hospital. Born in Burlington, Kings Co., she was a daughter of the late Thomas William and Iona Jane (Clowry) Parks. Mildred taught school in Kings County for 40 years, retiring in 1970. She had been a former member of the Victoria Harbour United Baptist Church and the Aylesford United Baptist Church. For many years she led bible study and prayer groups. She was a Dominion Life Member of the WMS. Mildred was also a member of the Retired Teachers Association, and a member of the local Canadian Cancer Society Unit and the Red Cross Society Unit. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family. Mildred is survived by her sister-in- law, Faye Parks, Berwick; niece, Elizabeth Parks, Kentville. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her sisters, Marjorie Pettigrew and Greta Stearns; brother, Ralph Parks. Funeral service was held in the Morristown Baptist Church on Thursday, March 28, 2013 at 1:30 p.m. with Reverend Leon Langille officiating, assisted by Pastor Chad Clements; followed by burial in the Aylesford Union Cemetery.
