GAUDET, MARIE BERNICE YVONNE - Bernice Gaudet (nee Bourque), 76, of Moncton passed away suddenly at The Moncton Hospital on Thursday, March 28, 2013, after a brief illness. Born in Dorchester Crossing, NB in 1936, she was the daughter of the late Camille and Amanda Bourque. She was a homemaker and a very giving person, always putting the needs of others ahead of her own. She loved her grandchildren and enjoyed cooking, quilting, knitting and various other crafts. Bernice will be sadly missed and is survived by her husband of 55 years, Victor Gaudet; she is also survived by one daughter, Diane of Moncton and five sons, Louis of Moncton, Ray of Moncton, Ron of Ottawa, ON, Marc (Maja) of Floda, Sweden and Gerry (Krista) of Cochrane, AB. She also leaves behind seven grandchildren, Andrew, Erika, Alina, Andre, Casper, Charlie and Rachel; one sister, Helena Melanson (Ola) of Scoudouc as well as several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Bernice was predeceased by brothers and sisters, Brother Elie C.S.C., Stella, Camilla and Lorenzo; one infant grandchild.
Visitation at Ferguson Knowles Funeral Home, 1657 Mountain Road, Moncton (858-1995) on Monday from 7:00 to 9:00 pm and Tuesday from 2:00 to 4:00 pm and 7:00 to 9:00 pm. Funeral Mass to be held at Notre-Dame-de-Grâce Roman Catholic Church (854 Mountain Rd.) on Wednesday, April 3, 2013 at 11:00 am with Rev. Jean Guy Dallaire officiating. Reception in the parish hall following the mass. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or memorial of donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family.
