It is with great sadness that we the family announce the passing of Les Feener on March 29, 2013, at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, Sydney.
Born in Botwood, Newfoundland, he was the son of the late John ‘Jack’ and Elsie Goldine Feener.
Les was employed for many years at Hashem Scrap Yard and more recently employed with MS MacDonald Sand and Gravel. He enjoyed spending time with his family, he was an avid fisherman and hunter, and a big fan of the Montreal Canadiens.
Les is survived by his wife, Sharon (Tucker) Feener; his children, Les (Anna), Laura Doucet (Brian), David (Sheila),Tracy (Mike); nine loving grandchildren, Matthew, Leslie Ann, Web, Kyle, Jasmine, Stephie, Makayla, Michael and Andrew (Les’s little angel); one sister; three brothers. He is also survived by his stepmother, Jessie; two stepsisters; two stepbrothers as well as many nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his sister, Trudy.
Cremation has taken place. Visitation for Les will be held Tuesday, April 2 at the S.W. Chant & Son Funeral Home, 564 Alexandra St., Sydney, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m.
A memorial service will take place 11 a.m., Wednesday, April 3 in the funeral home chapel with Pastor Curtis Close officiating.
