NEW GLASGOW – Louise Scott Dewar, passed away peacefully at Valley View Villa on April 2, 2013 at age 93.
Born in New Glasgow in 1919, Louise was a daughter of Scott and Myrtle (MacKenzie) Copeland.
Before her retirement, Louise was a receptionist at West Side Medical for many years. She was a member of St Andrew’s Presbyterian Church, “The Kirk”, and the church guild. Louise had a wonderful sense of humour and believed in making the best of whatever life threw her way; she loved life and enjoyed being with her family and friends. She was foremost a loving mother and grandmother.
She will be missed very much by her son, Alexander “Sandy” (Donna Lalonde), Dartmouth; and her daughter, Shelley Hudson (Rob), Ottawa. She is also survived by her sister, Isabel Copeland, Riverton; her grandson, Alexander Dewar, Dartmouth; and her nephew John Faibisy, Virginia.
She was predeceased by her husband Alex in 1970 and a brother Norman.
The family wishes to acknowledge the wonderful care that Louise received at Valley View Villa and also extends a special thanks to Lorraine Moore, who made many long days a little brighter.
A celebration of Louise's life will take place this summer.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.
