Doreen Edie, beloved wife of Colin Edie, passed away on Saturday March 23, 2013 at the age of 86 years.
Doreen was born in Matsqui, BC to William & Gertrude Baynes and grew up in the BC Lower Mainland. She was pre-deceased by her first husband Leslie and both parents. She was blessed to find her second love Colin and they were married in Abbotsford in 1973.
Doreen is survived by her husband, Colin, sister Shirley Nieuwejaar of Courtenay BC, brother Bruce Baynes of Courtenay, BC, daughters Eileen Boston (Doug) of Calgary, Alberta & Barbara Crowell (Graham) of Roberts Creek, BC, sons Bob Balbirnie (Rita) of Surrey, BC and Colin Edie of Spokane, Washington. Grandchildren Angela (Mark), Natalie (Todd), Christopher (Marilyn), Jordan, Lauren (Mike), Andrew, Simon, Adam, Shannon & Ryan. Great grandchildren Hannah, Brayden, Michaela & Liam, as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins.
A celebration of Doreen’s life was held at the St.Andrews United Church in Lillooet on Saturday, March 30, 2013. If friends so desire, memorial tributes may be made directly to a charity of their choice in Doreen’s memory. The family wishes to express their utmost gratitude to Gail Madrigga for her support during Doreen’s illness as well as to all who cared for her at Mountainview Lodge. Their kindness and dedication is sincerely appreciated.
