SURETTE, Jeanne Louise - 81, Pont-du-Marais Boarding Home, Lower West Pubnico, formerly of Eel Brook, Yarmouth Co., passed away peacefully in Yarmouth Regional Hospital, on Saturday, March 30, 2013. Born December 30, 1931 in Ste-Anne-du-Ruisseau, Yarmouth Co., she was a daughter of the late Elie and Agnes (LeBlanc) Pothier. Jeanne retired in 2001, having worked as the postmistress at the Ste-Anne-du-Ruisseau Post Office for 26 years. Jeanne enjoyed knitting and she was very devoted in her catholic faith. Surviving are her children, Paul (Cecile) Surette, Lower Eel Brook; Yvonne (Mitchell) d’Entremont, Middle West Pubnico; Denise (Felton) d’Entremont, Lower West Pubnico; grandchildren, Nicole, Joelle, Suzanne, Claude, Luc, and Marysse, as well as by a great grandson, Dominic. Also surviving are brothers and sisters, Barbara (Ches) Yetman, Toronto; Sister Yvonne Pothier, Halifax; Helen (Paul) Babin, Eel Brook; Norman (Ena) Pothier, Deep River, Ontario; Caroline (Gerald) Babin, Don (Christine) Pothier, both of Lower Eel Brook; Carmelle (Bruce) Hubbard, Ste-Anne-du-Ruisseau. Aside from her parents, she was predeceased by her first husband, Edmond Surette, as well as by her second husband, Paul d’Entremont and two siblings in infancy. Visitation took place from 7 to 9 p.m., Monday, with prayers at 8 p.m., both at H. M. Huskilson’s Funeral Home, 29 Albert St., Yarmouth. The funeral mass was held at 2 p.m., Tuesday, April 2 at Saint Anne’s Catholic Church, Ste-Anne-du-Ruisseau, Father Albeni d’Entremont officiated. Interment followed in the parish cemetery. It was requested that there be family flowers only. Memorial donations may be made to Saint Anne’s Church Building Fund.
