William Wesley Chapman age 93 of Warren, Cumberland Co., passed away peacefully on Tuesday, February 9, 2010 at Gables Lodge in Amherst.
Born in Amherst Head NS, he was a son of the late Maynard Rene and Julia Etta (Chapman) Chapman.
Bill was a carpenter by trade and worked for Sherman McKay Contractor for 20 years and owned and operated his farm for many years. He enjoyed his workshop making many different things, such as chairs, tables, and wood turning just to name a few for his family and friends. Bill loved listening to old time music and found great pleasure in playing his Violin.
He was the last surviving member of his immediate family.
Bill will be lovingly remembered by his wife the former Hilda Louise Chapman; sons, Raymond (Dorothy), Hastings and Sheldon (Susan), Warren; daughter in Law, Linda Chapman, Bathurst NB; grandchildren, Karen, Rene, Tracy, Gillian and Nadine; great grandchildren, Mitchell, Mikayla, Mariah, Shailee, Robin, William Wesley, Emma Jane and Kathleen; great great grandson, Spencer; as well as several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Bill was predeceased by his son, Larry; sisters, Pansy McKenzie and Hazel Clarke; and brother, Maynard Lewis.
A private funeral service will be held at Campbell's Funeral Home, Amherst (667-9906). Family flowers only. As an expression of Sympathy, memorial contributions can be made to the IWK Hospital.
