KAY, LAURA M. - Laura M. Kay, of Monarch Hall, Riverview and formerly of Hillcrest Drive, Moncton, passed away peacefully at her residence on Thursday, April 4, 2013. Born in Trimsaran, Wales, she was the daughter of the late John and Catherine (Morris) McDonald. Laura was a member of St. James Anglican Church, the A.C.W. Talent Chapter, the Altar Guild and Fidelity Chapter O.E.S. # 36, Riverview. Laura will be sadly missed by her husband of over sixty-six years, Ronald Kay; daughter, Karen Stephens (Richard) of Fredericton; sons, John (Vicky) of Ottawa, ON and David (Charlene Geldart) of Halifax, NS; granddaughters, Christine Stephens, Heather (Nico) Angka, Bryenne Kay and Melissa Kay; one great granddaughter, Hayden Angka, as well as two nieces, Catherine Duff and Janet Blakney. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family. In addition to her parents, Laura was predeceased by her sister, Sylvia Coates and daughter-in-law, Arlie Kay. The family would like to thank Dr. Bob Forbes and the Staff at Monarch Hall for the excellent care shown to Laura.
Visitation at Ferguson Knowles Funeral Home, 1657 Mountain Road, Moncton (858-1995) on Saturday from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00pm. Funeral Service at St. James Anglican Church, Fairview Drive, on Sunday, April 7, 2013 at 3:00 pm, with The Rev. Roderick Black officiating. Reception in the Church Hall following the service. Interment, Woodlawn Cemetery, McKees Mills, in the spring. In Laura’s memory, donations to the Parkinson Society or memorial of the donor’s choice would be appreciated.
