LYNDS, Celia Jane - 102, Truro. It is with great sorrow the family announces the death of Celia Lynds on Wednesday, April 3, 2013, at The Mira Long Term Care Facility, Truro. Born December 6, 1910, in Onslow Mountain, she was a daughter of the late John and Jessie Crowe, and was the last surviving member of her immediate family. Celia is survived by sons, Donald (Helen), Onslow Mountain; William (Vie), Crowes Mills; Eric (Nancy), Ontario; daughters, Irma (Ken) Lemmons, Bible Hill; Rosalie (Morris) McCallum, North River; Phyllis (Charles) Wilson, Bible Hill; Joan (Warren) McAuley, Lunenburg; Jane (Dave) Aalders, Truro; Darlene (Kerry) Blaikie, Lunenburg; several nieces, nephews, grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; daughters-in-law, Betty Lynds, Belmont; Lorraine Lynds, Truro; son-in-law, Orville Otterson, Belmont. Along with her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Alfred; sons, Murray, Foster, Robert; daughter, Irene Otterson; grandsons, Stephen Lynds, Darrell Lynds, Frederick Crowe; daughter-in-law, Lillian Lynds; four sisters; three brothers. Celia’s family would like to thank the staff of The Mira for the wonderful care they provided and for all the friends she made while living there. Arrangements have been entrusted to Mattatall – Varner Funeral Home, 55 Young Street, Truro, where Celia’s family will receive friends from 12-12:45 p.m., Saturday, April 6, 2013, followed by the funeral service at 1 p.m., Reverend Scott Penner officiating.
