We, the family, regret to announce the passing of Daniel Spencer Richardson, 36, of New Waterford on April 4, 2013.
Born in Sydney, he was a son of Roy Richardson and Cindy (MacDonald) Latham.
Danny was a chef for 17 years working at the Bonnie Prince and more recently, the Holiday Inn in Sydney. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and sports; namely, hockey. His favourite team since childhood was the Chicago Blackhawks. Danny was most known for being a great dad who lived for his children. He will be truly missed by all.
Surviving are his common-law wife, Emily Upchurch; daughter Emily Richardson; son Alex Richardson and their mother, Nicole White; stepchildren Nicholas and Niaomi Upchurch; son, Daniel Spencer Richardson Jr.; daughter Adereanna Joyce Richardson; stepmother Donna (Chipman) Richardson; former stepmother, Barbara Roach; maternal grandmother Minnie MacDonald; brother Darrick (Tina) Richardson; sister Lindsay Latham; niece Alyssa Richardson; nephew Camryn Richardson; several aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
Danny was predeceased by his maternal grandfather, Joe MacDonald and paternal grandparents, Roy and Mary Richardson.
Visitation will be held Monday, April 8 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. in V.J. McGillivray Funeral Home, 380 Smith St., New Waterford. A funeral service will be held Tuesday, at 2 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Father Ray Huntley officiating. Cremation will follow.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of one's choice.
