Passed peacefully away in Kirkland Lake, Ontario on February 20, 2008 in his 88th year. Predeceased by his wife Ethel (Lush) and his son David. Leaving to mourn are his daughters Marjorie Belair (Andre), Rouyn-Noranda, Quebec, Ethel Sparkes (Wilfred Colson) Brantford, Ontario, his sons, Stephen (Lynn Dawson), St. John's, Newfoundland and Wayne (Diane Constantineau), Rouyn-Noranda, Quebec, his grandchildren, Daniel, Alexis, Marie-Josée, Ryan and Michael. Roy Sparkes was a member of the Royal Navy during World War II. The rite of passage took place on February 25, 2008 in Rouyn-Noranda.
