Theresa Margaret (MacLean) Rostek

With saddened hearts, we announce the peaceful passing of Theresa Margaret (MacLean) Rostek on Thursday, April 4, 2013, in palliative care of the Victoria General Hospital, Halifax, at age 78, completely surrounded by her loving family.
Theresa was a daughter of the late Archie and Chrstina ‘Tina’ MacLean of Sydney.
She was a graduate of St. Rita’s Hospital of Nursing in 1958.
Theresa is survived and will be greatly missed by her husband, John ‘Sonny’; children, Christina (Jamie), Jennifer, Halifax, Anthony (Terrie), Sydney, and Jane, Halifax; grandchildren, Andrew, Noah and Matthew. Theresa is also survived by her brother, Redmond ‘Resie’ and sister-in-law, Helen, both of Sydney; brother-in-law, William ‘Billy’ and his wife Sheilgh, Ottawa. Also surviving are numerous nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by brothers and sisters, James, Fr. Leonard ‘Butch’, Jack, Michael, Sr. Leonarda ‘Tootsie’, Marie Gillis, Eileen Johnston and Mary MacGrath.
Mom enjoyed her many friends in both New Waterford and Halifax and was a woman of great faith. Her children and grandsons were a great joy in her life and she was focused on being a loving and generous mother and nana. She also loved corresponding via email with her nieces Gloria, Barbara and Laura.
Visitation will take place in J.A. Snow Funeral Home, 339 Lacewood Dr., Halifax, Monday, April 8 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Her funeral will be in St. Agnes Church, 6903 Mumford Rd., Halifax, Tuesday, April 9, at 10 a.m. with reception to follow in the church auditorium. Fr. John Williams presiding.
