Passed peacefully away at St. Clare’s Mercy Hospital on February 9, 2010 Lillian Clarke (nee Andrews), age 88 years. Predeceased by husband Ernest Clarke, 1981; mother and father Gwendoline and Charles Andrews (Bell Island); brothers: Lloyd, Eric and Rex Andrews; sisters: Gwen Atkinson and twin sister Margaret LeDrew. Leaving to mourn daughters: Margaret (Howard) and Gwen (Gord); one son Bruce (Margie); seven grandchildren: Karen, Stephen and Keith Dwyer, Debora, Brian, Leah and Laura Downton; eleven great-grandchildren; brothers: William (Bill) Andrews, Nova Scotia, Roy Andrews (Celine), British Columbia; sisters: Rhylla Giffin (Dave), British Columbia, Dorothy Baker (Gordon), Ontario and Rae Lavoie, Ontario, as well as a large number of other relatives and friends. Resting at Carnell’s Funeral Home, 329 Freshwater Road on Thursday, February 11, and Friday, February 12 from 10-12, 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral service will take place from Gower Street United Church on Saturday, February 13, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. Interment to follow at the General Protestant Cemetery, Old Topsail Road.
