We, the family of the late Mayme and Douglas Eckhardt, wish to extend our most sincere thanks to the many friends and neighbors who offered their support and sent cards and donations during this sad time. A special thank you to Dr. Genge and Dr. Chow, as well as the nursing staff at the Victoria County Memorial Hospital, Baddeck and the staff at Alderwood Rest Home, Baddeck, for all their care and compassion. It will not be forgotten. Thank you to the doctors and nurses of the Palliative Care Unit of the Cape Breton Regional Hospital for their kindness and care. An extra special thanks to Diane Kempt for her devotion to Mayme and Doug’s spiritual well-being and for the beautiful services in celebration of their lives. Thank you to Ron Kempt for his patience in bringing Dianne to spend time with Mayme and Doug. Thanks to Heather MacInnes and her choir for their beautiful music, and to the UCW ladies at St. Ann’s Bay United Church for providing beautiful lunches. Thank you to Shawn and David Dunlop for their professionalism and compassion during such a difficult time for our family. A very special thank you to the friends and neighbors of Mayme and Doug in the Goose Cove area for their assistance in offering drives and bringing meals and happiness to the Eckhardt home.
