It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Evelyn Maud Gould on February 11, 2010 in Cumberland Regional Health Care Centre, Upper Nappan, at the age of 74 after a brief but courageous battle with cancer.
Evelyn was the beloved daughter of the late Clarence Dean Gould and Ethel Laura (Slack) Gould. She was born in Amherst, Nova Scotia. Evelyn will be forever remembered by brother, Charles (and Reta) Gould of East Brookfield, MA, sister, Doreen (and Eric) VanDerVort of Amherst, NS and niece, Tanya Robinson (Gould) of Boston, MA with whom she made her home for many years. She will be lovingly remembered by 14 nieces and nephews, 25 great nieces and nephews, 6 great-great nieces and nephews, extended family and dear friends.
Evelyn is predeceased by her parents, twin brother Earl, and brothers, Lewis, Stanley, and Clarence (Junior).
Evelyn worked at the Amherst Pants Factory, owned and operated a Diner on Albion Street, and spent her years prior to retirement working at Highland View Regional Hospital. Evelyn was an active member of the Immanuel United Church, UCW, and served on many Church Boards.
Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Campbell's Funeral Home, 98 Church St., Amherst (667-9906). Cremation has taken place and visitation will be from 1:00 to 2:00 pm on Saturday, February 13, 2010 with a service following at 2:00 pm at Campbell's Chapel with Rev. Philip Read officiating.
Those who so desire may make a donation in memory of Evelyn to the Immanuel United Church or to a charity of their choice.
