Gloria Ann Mullins, age 69 of Bluewater Drive, Glace Bay, passed away suddenly on Thursday, April 11, 2013 at her home.
Born in Glace Bay, she was the daughter of the late Alex S. 'The Baker' and Annie (Kostey) MacDonald.
After graduating from high school, Gloria accepted a position with Woolworth's head office in Toronto before devoting the rest of her life to taking care of her family. For the past five years she volunteered at the information desk at the Glace Bay Hospital. Gloria enjoyed sitting on the deck listening to Elvis, spending time with family, friends and 'Aunt Jemima'.
Gloria is survived by her husband of 49 years, Paul Mullins; one son, Robbie (Shannon), Glace Bay; two grandchildren, Brittany and Bobby; one great grandchild, William; one sister, Catherine (Frank) Brushett, New Minas; special cousin, Sheila Kostey, numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
Gloria is also survived by close relatives, Cecil (Mary) Mullins, Art (Carol) Mullins, Glace Bay, Bessie Gerrard, Hamilton, Ontario, Miriam (Mike) Miclon, California, Millie Mathews, Port Aux Basques, Newfoundland, Barb Mullins, Glace Bay and Nisha Mullins, Reserve Mines.
Gloria was predeceased by her son, Stephen and a sister in infancy.
Visitation will be held on Monday from 2-4, 7-9 p.m. in the V.J. McGillivray Funeral Home, 16 Reserve St., Glace Bay. The funeral mass, officiated by Rev. Dan Boudreau is Tuesday morning at 11 a.m. in St. Anne's Church, Glace Bay. Interment in the parish cemetery followed by a reception in the church foyer.
As an expression of sympathy for Gloria, memorial donations in her memory may be made to a charity of one's choice.
