Passed peacefully away at the L.A. Miller Centre, Palliative Care Unit on Wednesday, February 10, 2010, George Charles Whiteway, aged 76 years. Predeceased by his brother Herman and sister Mary. George passed away in the loving presence of his wife of 50 years, Doris. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories, daughters: Sandra (Louis Burry) of Ottawa, Paula (Bert Dobbin) of Mount Pearl and Barbara (Carlos Rodeno) of Fort Myers, Florida; grandchildren: Justin, Meghan and Lauren; brothers: Jim (Geraldine), Dave and Fred; sisters: Jean (Harry Dawe, predeceased), Christine (Bob Kreiger), Marilyn (Ralph Sparkes); step-sister, Rita (John, predeceased); as well as many nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. Special thanks to the staff of St. Clare’s 7 East and the staff of the Palliative Care Unit at the Leonard A. Miller Centre. Your kind and loving care during this difficult time was a source of comfort to George and our family. Resting at Carnell’s Funeral Home, 329 Freshwater Road, St. John’s with visitation on Thursday and Friday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral service to take place from Carnell Memorial Chapel on Saturday, February 13, 2010 at 11 a.m. Interment to follow at Mount Pleasant Cemetery.
