STELLARTON – It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of David Alan MacDonald, 60 of Stellarton, who passed away unexpectedly at home on Monday, April 15th, 2013.
Born in New Glasgow, he was a son of Charlotte (Hemwood) MacDonald and the late Donald Robbins MacDonald.
David was a resident of Stellarton for the past 16 years having previously lived in Scotsburn and Trenton. He was employed with the N.S.L.C. from 1977-2004 and was an active member of the N.S.L.C. retirees. David was a former volunteer fireman with the Scotsburn Fire Dept.
Surviving are his mother Charlotte MacDonald, Trenton; and will be sadly missed by his wife, the former Donna MacBeth; daughter, Vanessa (Greg) Lake, Stellarton; grandsons, Devon and Logan Butler; granddaughters, Isabella and Mallory Lake; brother Barry (Lorraine) MacDonald, Trenton; sisters, Linda (Richard) Kenney, Hopewell; Kate (Brad) Stewart, Island East River; mother-in-law Pearl MacBeth, New Glasgow; brother-in-law Philip (Joanne) MacBeth, Milford; sisters-in-law Helen (Lionel) Holmes, Stellarton; Rhonda (Paul) MacLean, New Glasgow.
He will be missed by his four legged companions Alie and Cassie; a number of nieces and nephews.
David was predeceased by his father Donald Robbins MacDonald and his father-in-law Bernie MacBeth.
The family will receive visitors from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Thursday in the H.W. Angus Funeral Home, 256 King St., New Glasgow. A public memorial service will be held on Friday at 2 p.m. from the funeral home chapel with Rev. Jim Webber-Cook officiating.
Family flowers only please. Donations in memory of David may be made to the Nova Scotia Heart and Stroke Fund.
