Ethel 'Yvonne' Aucoin

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister, Ethel Yvonne Aucoin, at the age of 86, on Saturday, April 14, 2013 at the Sacred Heart Community Health Centre in Chéticamp surrounded by loved ones.
Born Feb. 22, 1927 and native of Grand-Étang, she was the daughter of Ernest (à Edouard) and Marie Hélène Chiasson. She was the beloved wife of the late Joseph Noël Aucoin and special companion of the late Simon LeBlanc.
She leaves behind sons, Yvon (Donalda), Clifford (Frances), Gelasse (Wilfredine), Laurent, Wayne (Tesia) and Emile (Jennifer); daughters, Linda (Michel), Annie Blanche (Vince), Odile (Jerry) and Della; brothers, Joseph (Laurette) and Marcel (Laurette); sisters, Margaret Ramard, Lucy Jane Aucoin (Joseph Henri) and Therese Roach. Her 19 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren, who all loved her dearly and will cherish fond memories of their Mémére. As well, she will be greatly missed by many special nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by husband, Joseph Noël Aucoin and companion, Simon LeBlanc; son, Robert; daughter, Noella; grandchildren, Doreen and Kenneth; brothers, Félix and Daniel; sister, Stella. Also twins siblings, Stella Elizabeth and Pierre Joseph during infancy.
Our mother will also be missed by her close circle of friends as well as her family of friends at her current residence at the Bellevue Apartments in Grand-Étang. She was known for her kind heart and her door which was always open, always room for one more, no matter what occasion. To know her was to love her. She was happiest when surrounded by her family and friends and loved reunions with music, fun and lots of laughs. She enjoyed hooking rugs, sewing, crafts and playing cards. Even though she had suffered many difficult days, she was very strong and had much faith. She always found a way to look on the positive side and had a good attitude of life. We will all miss her incredible smile, which will be embedded in our hearts forever.
She was a member of St. Joseph's parish in Saint-Joseph-du-Moine, Les Dames de Sainte Anne and the Nouveaux Horizons St. Joseph (Seniors Club).
Visitation will take place Thursday, April 18, 2013 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the Cheticamp Funeral Home. The funeral mass will be held on Saturday, April 20 at 3 p.m. at the St. Joseph Church in Saint-Joseph-du-Moine. Fr. Daniel Deveau officiating.
