It is with great sadness that the family of the late BERNARD BRAKE of Spanish Room, NL, announces his passing at the Burin Peninsula Health Care Centre, on Saturday, April 13, 2013, at the age of 69. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories are: Wife - Essie Brake of 3 years; Son – Rodney Brake (Melissa) of Edmonton, AB; Daughters – Judy Walsh (Carl) of St. John’s, Sharon Lannin (Barry) of Trenton, ON & Connie Debourja (Raul) of Trenton, ON; Stepchildren – Darlene (Karl) of Marystown, Herberta (Jack) of Jean de Baie, Jackie (Gerald) of Alberta, Herbert Jr. (Colleen) of Jean de Baie, Tina (Kim) of St. John’s & Terry of Alberta; Sister – Monica Slaney; Brother – Gordon Brake: 8 Grandchildren – Sonya, Shea, Staci, Ben, Kyle, MacKenzie, Rylie & Kyrie; 1 Great-Grandchild – Miah; 8 Step-Grandchildren & 2 Step-Great-Grandchildren; plus a large circle of relatives and friends. Pre-deceased by: Parents – Ambrose & Elizabeth Brake, Brother – Vincent Brake & Sister – Louisa Slaney.

The Mass of Christian Burial took place at Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church on Tuesday, April 16, at 1:00 p.m. Inurnment followed at St. John Bosco Roman Catholic Cemetery in Spanish Room. In Bernard’s memory donations may be made to The Brake Family, Daffodil Place, Canadian Cancer Society or flowers gratefully accepted.
